The Italy Trip 2013

PIL USA sponsored their annual “Appreciation” trip to Italy 8 - 14 April 2013.

This annual trip is based around the Euroluce and Light+Build lighting shows and is offered to our top performing customers each year.
The 2013 trip began with a visit to the Euroluce show in Milano and points of interest in the city center– followed by some “relaxing time” at Sulzano on Lago d’Iseo. Afterwards the group traveled East to Verona to visit the PIL facility and meet some of the Italy staff.

Trips to wine tasting events held in Bardolino, and walking tours of beautiful Old Verona and Sirmione also helped to fill the days. The annual “Italy Trip” reward has been a very successful program for PIL USA. Customers who have experienced this trip consider it to be one of the most intimate and relaxed “reward” trips offered by a USA manufacturer.

In attendance this year were PIL USA staff Dina Gohlke, Chris Tedesco, Michael Alson, Joshua Smart, and Kate DeBellis. Guests were Kent Heston and fiancé Kris Lyn (agents from Oklahoma City), Bob Esselburn (Landscape Architect, DC Metro area), Al and Pam Satterfield (agents from Austin, Texas).

Performance in Lighting USA  7th annual Lightfair “Open House” Event

Wednesday 24, April- Philadelphia, PA.

PIL USA’s 7th Annual “Open House” event proved to be a huge success drawing well over 150 designers, architects, and sales agents alike.  The venue this year was gastro-brew pub “Triumph Brewery” in the historic Old City section of Philadelphia – a very short distance from the Lightfair show.

The PIL “Light Lounge” featured many beautiful new PIL products on display that were sure to excite the senses.  These visual “treats” were equally complimented by the delicious gourmet hors d’oeuvres and “house-brewed” craft beers being served in the loft space.

As PIL USA’s Chris Tedesco states, ”It’s good to be able to relax with friends and colleagues in more of a social setting.  Many of our guests spend 8 hours or more a day on their feet at the Lightfair show.

They quickly “burn out” after walking from stand to stand trying to quickly digest all of the technical product information, sales pitches, and sales meeting data that is thrown at them each day.

We try to emulate the feel of the European shows by providing more of a relaxed atmosphere where value is placed on the relationship and product is discussed when the customer is ready in a more relaxed environment.

We like to think of our event as a visual and gastronomical journey that can be shared together – a zen-like experience featuring PIL lighting, good food, and great friends!”
